Installation:

This mod does not require any modloaders or anything - installing it is very simple. It's just a zip, some folders, and some PNG files (images). Balatro is built on a simple platform, and so you can open its EXE file like a ZIP file to view its internal files... and replace them too! That's how the mod is installed.

You will need 7zip, or a program with similar capability to open non-zip files as zips. Download 7zip here. Fortunately, 7zip is free open source zip software.

1. Download the mod
2. Navigate to your Balatro installation folder. Right click on Balatro in steam, then go to Manage > Browse Local Files
3. Extract the mod .zip file. You should have a "Mint + Friends Balatro Mod" folder in your Balatro directory now.
4. Duplicate your Balatro.exe file to keep one as a backup. Make a choice of which one you would like to edit. If you edit Balatro.exe then it will use your existing save file data. If you edit one with a different name then it will create separate save file data for that .exe. You can change the name of the file any time and it will load the save files for that .exe name. "Balatro.exe" will be the one that opens when pressing play in steam, but you can launch either one from the folder.
5. Right click on the .exe file you wish to edit in your Balatro installation folder (A reminder you'll need 7zip or similar for this) you may need to click "Show more options" on later versions of Windows. Under the options it should say 7zip. Hover over it to reveal some options.
6. Under 7zip click Open archive.
   
7. Go into the "Mint + Friends Balatro Mod" folder. Grab the resources folder and drag it over into your 7zip window. Accept the prompt asking you to copy the files and overwrite existing files.
8. Close 7zip and launch the .exe
9. (Optional) if you'd like to use all the cards from the start without having to unlock them through normal play, balatro allows you the option to unlock all cards. From the main menu click on your profile in the bottom left, then use the "unlock all" option from the right side of the menu.

Uninstall:

Launch the game from the backup .exe you made. You can delete the edited .exe without issue. If you forgot to make a backup then you can verify integrity of files in steam or reinstall Balatro and keep your save files.
